+ What can I expect from hiring Latour de Force Productions to produce my Demo Reel?
You can expect an expertly crafted industry standard demo reel that will showcase your brand, putting you in a strategic position to book you more work. Using my skills and expertise I will transform your footage to bring your best scenes to life. Your demo reel will be current, professional, and fun to watch!
+ Do you help me pick out my footage?
I do assist with picking out the best moments from your performances, however, it is also helpful to communicate your ideas for your demo reels as well, so that we can both be on the same page as far as putting together a reel that will be memorable by casting folks. It’s not only an asset but also imperative to have an expert editor who understands what goes into producing a professional reel, and one who knows what sells. Being in the business as well, I have the unique ‘vantage point’ and am able to anticipate the expectations agents, casting directors and the like. This is paramount to working with an actor on their body of work, in order to make the most effective reel.
+ Couldn’t I just put together my own reel?
You could, but would you rely on a non-professional to take your headshots? It’s the same concept for a reel, as there is a lot more to producing a quality professional reel than just ‘cutting and pasting’ clips together’. Timing, placement, structure, and 'flow' are all key elements in creating a professional customized reel. While there is consumer-based software that is readily accessible, there are the technical aspects to consider as well, including codecs, compressions, rendering properties, file formats, etc…, the list goes on…as well as executing proper placement of your clips, and keeping the pace. If you don’t know the correct settings for all of the different mediums, it is possible to get a reel with technical difficulties, which will end up being distracting to the very folks that you want to impress! So it’s best not to ‘cut corners’ for something as important as your demo reel.
+ Do you film reels from scratch?
I do not film reels from scratch…I create custom demo reels using clients’ own footage.
+ How much does a reel cost?
Rates are based on each individual client’s needs and would vary depending on the amount of footage that is included, as well as the amount of editing involved. With packages including footage retrieval, converting to the appropriate editing format, adding titles, captions, transitions, compression output to appropriate format, most reels fall within the $295-$495 range. Once we communicate about your vision for your custom demo reel during our complimentary consultation, pricing can be discussed. The ultimate goal is to provide you with a final product that will make your talent shine!
+ I’m ready to begin, how do I get my materials to you?
We can schedule a consultation either over the phone or in-person if you are in the NYC area. If not, no worries, we can speak or Skype, and I can guide and instruct you how upload any footage to Dropbox. Hard copies of materials can easily be sent via FedEx; UPS; USPS, etc…
+ What forms of payment do you accept?
Paypal and Venmo are accepted methods; as is cash...and checks tbd.

You can expect a one-of-a-kind tailor made montage, one that will pull on the heartstrings of the individual it was made for, as well as everyone else who is watching. Using my skills and expertise, I will transform your precious memories and bring the most spectacular moments to life! Your custom montage will be polished, unique, and entertaining for everyone!
+ Couldn’t I just put together my own Montage?
Sure…however, having consumer-based editing software that comes with your computer, and having the skills of a professional editor can vary greatly. The real art comes from capturing the feelings behind it all, and telling a compelling story which will captivate your audience, and bring them tears of joy. When creating something as significant as a living family heirloom, something that will be looked back upon for generations, having a video professional who understands the technical aspects as well as the creative storytelling is paramount. Without knowledge of how to execute the proper placement of clips, and keep within the pace, the montage can fall flat. There is a lot more involved than just ‘cutting/pasting’ clips together. Timing, placement, and structure are all key elements in creating your professional custom montage.
+ What kind of media can you work with?
Your hard copy photos, which can be scanned, and your digital photos are accepted as well. For your videos/home movies, anything that’s in digital form, ie. DVD; external drive, or online, is acceptable. Other formats that are not digital would need to be converted first, as I have several excellent conversion companies I can recommend.
+ How much does a custom Montage cost?
All pricing options are based on each individual client’s needs. Packages would vary depending on the amount of photos (digital and hard copy); the amount of video footage there is, as well as the amount of music and text, and the overall scope of the project. I can tailor your custom montage to fit within a budget of $500-$5,000...as each client’s need is unique. Once we communicate about your vision for your custom montage during our complimentary consultation, pricing can be discussed. The ultimate goal is to provide you with a final product that you can be proud of, and one that will be enjoyed for generations to come.
